10.5 Creating CycleTime Data Import File

10.5 Creating CycleTime Data Import File

Start by creating a CSV or spreadsheet file that contains the information you wish to import.  This is usually done by exporting the from your source system (such as an ERP).
Make sure that the first row of this file contains the Names or the Data Fields exported from the source system.
Once you have exported your Job/Part/CycleTime data from your source system to an Excel spreadsheet or CSV file, you can use the provided Excel Macro Workbook to convert your exported Source data into CSV file that is suitable for importing into the FactoryWiz system.
Start by downloading the FWImportMacroWorkbook.xls to your local machine and then make sure that the file is Unblocked and that Macros are enabled.
Instructions on how to verify a downloaded Excel file is unblocked and that Macros are enabled can be found by following this link to instructions.

Start by opening the ERP Export spreadsheet that you had created at the beginning of this procedure and then select all of the data, including the Header row containing the Names of the columns, and then copy the cell range to the Windows Clipboard (by doing a right-click > Copy OR CTRL+C keys to copy)
Then open the FWImportMacroWorkbook.xls that you previously downloaded, select sheet by clicking the ERP-Export-Data tab at the bottom of the Excel workbook, put your cursor in cell A1, and paste the data from the Windows Clipboard into the selected sheet (by doing right-click > Paste OR CTRL+P keys to paste).
When pasting your source data into the ERP-Export-Data sheet, you must overwrite the sample data in the ERP-Export-Data
Next select the Mappings sheet by clicking on the Mappings tab at the bottom of the Excel workbook.
Starting with cell A2, select the Source Data Field Name from the drop down list, then column B select the Destination Data Field Name from the drop down list.
Do this for each Data Field you wish to import.
NOTE: You do not need to map all fields, just the ones you want import.
HOWEVER: you must select at least the either Job field or the PartID field (OR BOTH) for mapping.
Once you have selected each of your field Mappings, you can click the Run Macro button to programmatically map the Souce data to the Destination FW-Import-Data sheet.
Then you can click the FW-Import-Data sheet to review the data.
If everything looks good, go back to the Mappings sheet and click the Export Data button to create the CSV file, and note the location where the CSV file is saved (it will be in the same folder as where you saved and ran Excel Macro Workbook.)
IMPORTANT: Before proceeding, please make sure you have reviewed the information provided regarding Importing Cycle Times into the FactoryWiz system.

Now that you have created the CSV file, you can import the file using the FactoryWiz Monitoring system in Configuration > Cycle Times
If you have proper security to this feature, it will appear on your scree.
Click the gear icon in the upper right corner and choose Cycle Times

Click the Select File button to select the CSV file you created with the Macro to import it.
