Configure Machine Status & Layout with Map View

8.9.1 Map View Layouts

The Map View Configuration window is where you configure the Map View that displays an overview of the status of the machines and their approximate locations on the production floor.  You may create separate Map View maps for different groups of machines.  If you have more than one physical site, for example, you could create a separate map for each site.  You may also choose to create different maps for different groups of machines at a single site.  Each machine is represented by an icon that displays information about the machine’s status, like the information displayed in List View.  The amount of information that can be displayed will depend on the size of the icon. Generally, each icon can display 3-4 pieces of information at once. The information displayed in each icon is configurable.

Here you can add and remove machine icons to the map layout.  Using the Map # drop-down menu, you can switch between map layouts.  Select a machine from the Machine drop-down menu and click the Add button to add it to the layout.  A colored rectangular icon representing the machine you selected will appear in the upper left corner of the map.  Once the machine appears on the layout, you can move it, rotate it, and resize it as needed.

To change an icon’s size or orientation, click on the icon. You will then see handles, light blue circles you can click and drag.  Click and drag the blue handle above the icon to rotate the icon; click and drag the circles on the corners or sides to make the icon larger or smaller.

To position an icon, click on it and drag it to the proper location.

To remove a machine from the layout, select the appropriate machine icon and click the Remove button.  The Remove All button will remove all the machine icons from the layout.  There is also a zoom slider bar that allows you to zoom in/out of the map for better precision when placing machine icons.
