Tooling Module Overview

Tooling Module Overview

FactoryWiz Monitoring provides a Tooling Module to track the lifetime of the tools loaded in each CNC machine monitored by the software.
Tools can be added to the machine either as a Single Tool or as part of a Tool Group. The system will keep track of each tool based on the Tool Life criteria assigned to each tool when it is added to the machine.

The system will then keep track of each tool and give you a visual indication of which tool will be the next to change out due to end of life.
The system will retain the full Tool Lift History as tools are changed out so that you can always go back and review the data

When adding or exchanging tools in a machine, you can give each tool a unique Tool Number and Description, as well as define the Tool Group and the expected tool life.
The tool life types currently available are:
  1. Number of Uses
  2. Number of Cycles
  3. Number of Parts Produced
  4. Time used in Seconds (actual cutting time)

If the Tooling Module is activated in Monitoring, then you can also add the Tooling widget to the OperatorConnect tablet interface.
When the Operator selects the Tooling widget, they will be presented with the following user interface where they can
  1. Add Tools
  2. Exchange/Remove tools
  3. View Tool History

The options for Exchange/Remove tools are:
  1. Part Changeover
  2. Preventive
  3. Life Over
  4. Broken Tool
  5. Remove
  6. No Change
The Operator interface for Add Tool has the same options as on the Monitoring side of the application
The History view also shows the save information as on the Monitoring side of the application
