Tooling Module Configuration

Tooling Module Configuration

You can turn the Tooling Module on and off per machine. When you enable the Tooling Module here in Monitoring Configuration, then if you have added the Tooling Module widget to the OperatorConnect Tablet interface, then the Tooling widget will display for the Operator to interact with.

Tool Life Source is often set to Manual Entry, but there are also Source options for Spreadsheet and Machine Variable.

If the Tool Life Source of Machine Variable is selected, then you will need to fill out the details of which machine Program Macro variable you will be using to track Tool Life.
This is a more advanced topic and so you may want to reach out to FactoryWiz support for guidance on how to configure your Tool Life settings through machine Macro Variables.

Actual tool usage usually comes from the Current Tool information that is sent by the machine Controller to the FactoryWiz Monitoring software.
However, if that Current Tool information is not available, you can also enable the option for Tool Usage from Machine Variable Source and then embed the Tool Usage details into Macro Variables in your part Programs. Again, regarding using machine program Macro Variables to track Tooling details is a more advanced topic and you may want to reach out to FactoryWiz support for guidance on how to configure your Tool Usage settings through machine Macro Variables.
