Siemens 840D Serial Configuration

CNC Parameters

You will need to verify all parameters listed below that correspond to your CNC control.  These parameters may not match your particular machine’s control.  Document (Phone camera) original settings before making modifications!

Changing CNC Parameters

Interface settings are normally found under Services.

When Services screen is shown, selections are Data In, Data Out, Manage Data, and Interface.  Choose Interface.


Select Xon/Xoff, Normal file transfer, Xon=Hex 11, Xoff=Hex13,

End of Transmission. =Hex03, Timeout: 4sec

Check the box: Send XON at Start Data on.

Check the box: Stop with EOT character.



 

FactoryWiz DNC Settings

Basic Communication

1.01- Port Type: Standard

1.11- Baud: 19200

1.12- Data Bits: 8

1.13- ASCII None

1.14- Stop Bits: 1

1.15- Handshake: XON/XOFF

1.21- End of block (EOB): LF

 

Sending Options

2.11- Leader:

2.12- Trailer: <3>

2.31- Automatic timeout: 7

 

Receiving Options

3.11- Program identifier 1: _N_  

3.12- Program Identifier 2:

3.21- Receive timeout: 3

3.31- Ignore data before first end-of-block: False

3.32- Ignore data after last end-of-block: False

 

Remote Commands

4.02- Request for file command: GET-

4.03- Request for file command (drip feed): DNC-

4:11- Request to save command: PUT-

 

 

Additional Notes

Outputting CNC Programs:

When Services screen is shown, select Data Out.

Cursor down to file you want sent.

Press V.24, then press Start.

 

Inputting CNC Programs:

When Services screen is shown, select Data In.

Cursor down to folder where you want file stored.  (If file format is correct, it will automatically be stored in the correct folder)

Press V.24, then press Start.
