How to Restart FactoryWiz Services

How to Restart FactoryWiz Services

FactoryWiz talks to most machine controls (CNC / PLC) with a dedicated windows service for each control type. By that we mean all Fanuc's are controlled by one service (RYM FOCAS) and all Mazak's controlled by another service (RYM Mazak).

A lot of machine settings, such as IP addresses are pulled in by the service on startup, so sometimes we need to restart them to pull in the new settings. Experienced IT professionals can restart these services from services.msc, all FactoryWiz service start with the prefix of RYM.

Restart Services Using FactoryWiz

In FactoryWiz go to CONFIGURATION > SERVICES.

To restart a service

  1. Select the service you want to stop by clicking on the control type on in the left panel (Data Collection Services)
  2. Click STOP in stop / start and wait for it to stop. When it's stopped the green lamp next to the service name will be red and the green START button will appear.
  3. Click START.
  4. Done.

Restart using Windows (on the server)

  1. Click on the windows menu button and type in SERVICES.
  2. Click on the services gear icon.
