Installing an ODBC Connector for FactoryWizTV

NOTE: You will need to create a new ReadOnly user in the MySQL database before proceeding with these instructions
Please follow this article to create a new ReadOnly user.
  1. Download the MySQL 32 bit ODBC connector version 5.1.18.
  2. Install it.
  3. Click on the windows button, type in ODBC and select the 32 bit option
  4. Select SYSTEM DSN TAB
  5. Add, then select MYSQL ODBC 5.1 Driver
    1. Data Source Name = CyclesDB
    2. Server = IP Address of your server
    3. User = the ReadOnly user name that you created in the MySQL database before proceeding with these instructions
    4. Password = the password created during the process of creating the ReadOnly user in MySQL database
    5. Database = FactoryWiz
    6. Click the Test button to test your new ODBC connection
If the Test Connection fails, check the following:
  1. You can ping the server IP (if Ping is enabled on the server)
  2. Firewall Rules are in place to allow 3306 on both server and client in both directions
  3. The MySQL readonly user account is valid
NOTE: if you are configuring a 32bit connection, the 64bit options will be disabled (Configure button will be greyed out)
If you are configuring a 64bit connection, the 32bit options will be greyed out.
You need to select the correct bitness per connection
