This walk through will show you how to find out, without looking in any cabinets.
Start by pressing [SYS] hard key to display the following page (if you do not see this page, press [SYS] multiple times until you do):
From this screen press the right {+} screen button until you see a screen button called {ETHPRM}, as shown below:
If you do not see {ETHPRM}, then the machine does not have Ethernet.
If you do have {ETHPRM}, press this screen button to display the available Ethernet connection. In the example above there is the standard EMBEDDED PORT and the FAST ETHERNET BOARD.
If your machine has either of these listed, then you have Ethernet. If it says PCMCIA, select {OPRT} and you might be able to change it to EMBEDDED. If you have PCMCIA, a card from FactoryWiz can be used to collect data.
Does not have Ethernet or Focas | Could have Ethernet | Has Ethernet as standard |
O Series | 0i-B (with PCMCIA) | 0i-D/F |
3 / 6 Series | 0i-C | 16i / 18i B |
16 / 15 / 18 / 21 (non i) | 21i-B | 30i Series |
15i-A/B | ||
16i / 18i / 21i A* |
* It is possible to have ethernet on 16i / 18i A series controls. This was an option from Fanuc. We estimate only 10% of these controls have ethernet. It is normally only on more high end machinery.
