Efficient Machine Location Management in Your System

8.7.7 Location

The location section is where you will enter details about each machine.  Every machine you configure will be assigned to a site and a department.  Here you can also enter details such as, Asset Tag, Asset Location, Manufacturer, Model, Serial Number, Manufacture Date, In Service Date, and machine specific Notes.

Select the site you wish to assign the machine to from the Site drop-down list.

Select the department you wish to assign the machine to from the Department drop-down list.

Creating A New Site Or Department
To create a new site or department, first select a machine that will be assigned to that site or department.

To create a new site, select Create New from the Site drop-down list.  A pop-up dialog box will appear.  You may then type the name of the new site in the text box.  Click save, and the new site will now appear in the drop-down menu for future selections.

To create a new department, select Create New from the Department drop-down list.  A pop-up dialog box will appear.  You may then type the name of the new department in the text box.  Click save, and the new department will now appear in the drop-down menu for future selections.

Deleting A Site Or Department

To delete a site, reassign any machines currently assigned to that site to a different site. Once the last machine has been reassigned, that site will be removed from the site list.

Use the same procedure to delete a department: the department will be automatically deleted if you reassign any machines currently assigned to that department to other departments.
