Managing Data Collection with RYM Services in FactoryWiz

8.12 Services

The RYM services installed on the FactoryWiz server are responsible for collecting the data from each machine type. The central service that controls FactoryWiz is RYM Poller.
Stopping this service will cause FactoryWiz to NOT operate at all.

Here you can see a list of RYM services on the server, core system services and data collection services.  The page is broken down into two sections.  The list of RYM services is shown on the left of the display area, and the right side of the display area will show information about each service when selected.

1.1.1     RYM Services List

The list of RYM services is shown on the left of the display area.  Each service has a status indicator (running / stopped).  The status of each service is indicated to the left of the service name in the list.  The indicator will be green for running, red for stopped, and black if it is not installed.

1.1.2     RYM Services Information Area

Clicking on a service in the list will display information about that service to the right of the list of RYM services.  Each service will display the actual name of the service at the top, followed by a description of the service, and then additional things to check.  Additional things to check will offer troubleshooting tips, and/or special instructions for the service.

1.1.3     Starting/Stopping A Service

Some services can be started/stopped/restarted from the RYM Services Information Area.  If a service has these options available, buttons will be displayed next to the actual service name in the RYM Services Information Area.  Starting/stopping/restarting a service can be a slower process than expected, please be patient, it’s working.  If no buttons are displayed next to the actual service name, this feature is not available for that service from FactoryWiz.
Please contact your IT administrator if you are unfamiliar with services and need assistance.
