10.3.2 Connecting Excel Desktop version to FactoryWiz

Before attempting to connect Excel to FactoryWiz database, you must install the ODBC connector.
See ODBC Installation
  1. Open Excel and create a new Workbook
  2. Select DATA Tab and then select From Other Sources > From Data Connection Wizard

  3. Then select ODBC DSN and click the Next button

  4. Then select your previously configured CyclesDB data source from the list and click the Next button

  5. Then you can select a single table from the list and click Finish, or you can uncheck the Connect to a specific table option and click the Next button
  6. Select your prefered Save Data Connection options and click Finish

  7. If you unchecked the Connect to a specific table option in step 5, then you will have the option to select multiple tables by checking the Enable selection of multiple tables option in this step of the Wizard
    If so, select the desired tables and then click the OK button (You must select at least one table to enable the OK button)

  8. Now select your Import Data options and click the OK button
Now that your data is loaded, you can work with the data to analyze, create reports, etc.
You can also use Excel macros to dynamically access the data.
