Key Definitions and Color Codes for Machine Status

1.7 Definitions

FactoryWiz uses specific terms and colors to help users easily identify machine status.

The colors were chosen with specific contrasts to assist with those who may be color blind.

FactoryWiz Default Definition Colors

The default colors and corresponding machine status definitions used within FactoryWiz are shown below.

Running

The machine is in a cycle, and active. On Ethernet machines this will mean in AUTO mode and in motion. For legacy machines it indicates the machine is in cycle but could be MDI mode.

Paused

The machine is in cycle, but not in motion. This is normally a feed hold such as an M00 or M01. The feed dial at 0% can also show as Paused.

Alarm

There is an alarm active on the CNC. For Ethernet machines, the alarm number and text will also be shown.

Idle

The CNC is in an idle reset state.

Manual

On Ethernet machines this can signal either MDI or JOG mode.

Disconnected

This indicates the machine is not connected to FactoryWiz, normally because it is turned off, but can also be an indication of a connectivity issue with the machine, or license issue.

Other

Non-production mode.  This could be machine set up, or unrecognized status, etc.
